Benefit income
We accept benefit income at 100%
We will not use benefit income for a borrower where their only income earned is from benefits.
Disability Living & Carers Allowance are only accepted where the benefit is for the borrower.
The total benefits cannot exceed 50% of the total income used.
Example; If earned income was Β£6,000 then we would only accept Β£6,000 of benefits, making the total income Β£12,000.
Keying pro tip:
All forms of tax credits are now paid within the Universal Credits and can be found on the borrower's Universal Credit monthly statement. Be mindful not to duplicate the payments across the benefit into fields.
When entering the total universal credit amount, you will need to ensure the housing allowance payment is deducted and any deductions for income have been taken into account.
We suggest where the applicant's income fluctuates from month to month, that you take an average over the last 3 months UC statements.
